Dear Members of the South Fayette Community,

We are proud to present you with our second annual Profiles of Excellence, an overview of the 2003-04 school year. We are pleased to report that South Fayette School District has exceeded all levels of proficiency requirements relative to “No Child Left Behind” and no school is identified in any area for need of improvement. Certainly we are proud of the continuing progress that our students have made in reading, math and writing achievement and we will always work to attain higher levels of proficiency for all students.

South Fayette also recognizes that the effectiveness of our school district must be measured by more than the scores that our students attain on a given test (the PSSA) in grades 5, 8 and 11. For this reason, our “Profiles of Excellence in South Fayette” highlights other factors that contribute to the overall quality of our school district, including staff and student achievements in Academics, the Arts and Athletics.

Our motto, “Tradition, Pride and Excellence,” is embraced in all that we do. Although our education reflects practices based on the most current research as to how students learn, South Fayette Schools will always believe that the strong traditions in our community contribute greatly to the overall effectiveness of our schools. Our standards are high and we accept the high expectations that have been set forth by this community. I hope that you will enjoy reviewing the highlights of a very successful school year.
